DIY Art-A Great Way To Save Monet

A couple of weeks ago I let you all know that Jon and I were looking for something to go above our bed. You guys gave us some great suggestions. Among one of the suggestions that Jon and I received was from his co-worker. She told us that we should make something to put over our bed.
So we took her advice, headed to Michaels for some art supplies and let out our inner artiste.
You have to start somewhere, here is our "before shot":

I got the inspiration for our color palate came from a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I

Here is Jon getting his Picasso on:And here I am getting my Frida on (coincidentally I really needed to get my brows done, hence me not facing the camera):
And here you have it, the final product!

So tell me (or show me if you have some pics) what is your latest creative endeavor?

HA! I loved this line: "And here I am getting my Frida on (coincidentally I really needed to get my brows done, hence me not facing the camera)" funny stuff!

This is WAY cool. I bet you guys had a lot of fun making the art piece and now you have this awesome souvenir to remember it by. A unique art piece made by you and your boy is WAY better than something you could by in the store. awesome! I think it looks great with the green wall.

hmm... latest creative endeavor? For Vday I made John a heart shaped brownie and decorated it with sprinkles and frosting. It looked kinda funny but that's OK!

I have been thinking of doing the same thing above my bed - well same as in creating my own piece of art. Thanks for the inspiration! I am in the process of painting a flower to hang above our toilet; it matches our shower curtain. It's just so much more fun to do it yourself!!

Cute!!! And inexpensive!!

My last creative burst was making my t-shirt blanket. (It's a February post in my blog).

I think next will be decoupaging a table with the band stickers that I collect from my boyfriend's shows, to be put in the office or what I call "his guitar room"

Hey Sarah!
Thanks for your comment. Yeah, it's SOOO addicting.

I added another paragraph to that posting:

"I guess I just have to make sure I don't get too addicted. Something funny - when I came into work on Monday my buddy Dana asked me what I thought of the Oscars. I told her, "Well, if you wanna know what I think, guess what- I started a blog over the weekend and I wrote about it on my blog!" She looked at me and said, "So you don't want to talk to me, you just want me to read your blog?!"

oops! haha. hope you're having a great thursday!!
