Four Eyes

Last week I woke up, shuffled to the bathroom, grabbed my contacts case, popped in my right contact and then fished around for the left one but it was gone. Normally I would just open a new pair but ya  see, I didn't have any left. So for the past week I have been stuck wearing glasses while my contact order came through.

Glasses are kinda cool though, I constantly look like I am on the case of a super cool Nancy Drew mystery or deep in thought or what people expect brunettes to look like-you know librarian-esque.

But for as cool as I may feel when I am wearing my glasses they can be a huge pain in the butt. For example when I am getting my "30 day shred" on and my face is sweaty my glasses slide down my nose-maybe they are trying to run away from Jillian Michaels too?Or there is the scary moment when I peer over the frame on my glasses and realize just how bad my eye site is...yowza! I swear it looks like I am opening my eyes underwater. But the trickiest would have to be putting on make-up without full eyesite. So instead I have just put on some mascara and blush and called it a day.

Oh contact lenses, how I have missed you.

The real rib tickler is that when I was little I wanted glasses! (I also wanted braces, which in hindsight might have been good for the snaggle...). Anyway, I blame  Mallory from the Babysitters Club for making me want glasses and subsequently making me need glasses because those books were so darn addicting!

I feel your pain.I think I might actually be legally blind if I didn't have my contacts or glasses.

I have TERRIBLE eyesight too. I usually wear my glasses to school and then put my contacts in at night when I work out, I used to wear my contacts for like 12-14 hours every single day but that's really taken a toll on my eyes so now I wear my glasses as much as I can!

I am so used to seeing my face with my glasses on that I feel like I look weird without them.

Ha! I wonder if every kid wishes they could have glasses and braces?? I never got the glasses, but I got the braces. Of course MY orthodontists didn't think I needed them until I was JUNIOR in high school. So by the time I was a metal mouth, all my other friends had had their braces off for years.

Hope your contacts come in soon!

Hehe!! I was in your same dilemma (sans the workout :o ) not too long ago, i hate wearing my glasses, its weird how my confidence is affected by wearing them. It's almost as if when I go out in public with them, I revert back to being the 4eyed, braces wearing, fuzzy haired dork I was in elementary school. It's crazy.

I've actually considered re-reading the babysitters club books recently, those were GOOD TIMES!!

Hoep your contacts get here soon!! :D

LOL! The Babysitters Club! Oh man, that brings back memories.
I'm sure you look great with the glasses. I love glasses. Such a great way to incorporate your own personal style.

The Babysitters Club..o.m.g! Totally forgot about that, I have such a baaaaad memory! I don't recall ever wanting glasses - maybe that's why I still have zero eyesight problems *knock on wood* However, I did always want braces..but again, never needed them, what the heck!?

urgh, I just found out last week that I need glasses...and not just for reading. But I can't even THINK about ordering contacts...I have this phobia of eyes and there's no way in heck I can touch my own eyeballs.

I always hated Mallory! But I do remember how when she wrote her name for the BSC Super Specials, she like made a cat or something? I liked that.

Ahhahahah the Babysitter's Club! oh when I was little I just wanted to be a babysitter when I grew up. I thought it was just so cool. I think I read up to like book 106 or something insane. I like my glasses, but I just have to wear them at the computer, my normal eyesight is perfect. So I guess I have a good balance. I get my "nerd chic" on at work and then can be normal elsewhere

Oh man, Sass! Seriously we are twins!!! I've never known anyone else who wanted glasses as a kid besides me! And obviously, by my two pairs of fake glasses, I still want glasses! But alas, I have 20/20 vision. Dang. I also wanted braces but I got those.
