I AM SO SICK OF BEING SICK!
Sorry 'bout that.
I think I can pinpoint yesterday as the moment that I lost it.
It all started when I was convinced I gave Frankie my flu; yes I was convinced I gave Frankie, the dog, my human flu. I called the vet in a panic and when
the vet assured me that I couldn't give Frank my flu, I yelled, "ARE YOU SURE?!" and then I back pedaled feeling dumb and said, "of course you are sure
I mean you studied dogs for like years....of course you know". And then I hung up with my tail between my legs.
And that was just the beginning.
My fever came back and my cough was down right un-controllable so, at the advice of my mom, I called the advice nurse to make sure I shouldn't come into the emergency room.
The advice nurse said that there wasn't really anything they could do for me in the ER. I would just have to stay at home ...and suffer!
She told me to get plenty of rest, at which point I told her that we have a new puppy and that rest wasn't really part of the plan.
She then said, "well you can't be a good puppy mom unless you are better".
This is when my lip started to quiver...I was trying really hard to be a good puppy mom...like with all my heart.
I told her I would try to get rest and be a better puppy mom and then she whips out, "oh you have arthritis already?"
I then explained to her that it's an old dance injury blah blah blah. And then she whips out the little gem, "so sad, because you are so young"
I hang up with the advice nurse and start sobbing, "I'm an awful puppy mom and I am too young to have arthritis AND I feel awful!"
So then I called my mom and she somehow took the ridiculous mess that was me and calmed me down.
So now tonight I am feeling slightly better, slightly, but Jon is totally sick.
Frankie is supplying lots of smiles and so is this little lady:

OMG, you had me in stitches reading this! I only recently discovered you via Ashley and how can a dog lover such as myself not want to follow up on little Frankie? He's so precious. I'm sorry you're sick, I totally know what that's like and it SUCKS!!! Hang in there, you're an excellent dog mom and you're right to trust the vet cuz he did indeed go to school for "like, years." :o)
P.S. You can't swap staph with your dog either.

I'm so sorry you're sick, i know exactly how you feel. The ONLY way to quiet my constant cough was to take cough meds with Codeine at night. I couldnt take it during the day b/c it made me so sleepy so after 4-5 days of COUGHING COUGHING COUGHING it finally got better but then my whole torso was INSANELY sore from all the coughing, esp my ribs :( Try & get lots of rest & drink lots of fluids, i know it's easier said than done.
Hang in there, I was sick for about 5-6 days but only 3 or 4 were REALLY bad. You'll be better soon <33
P.S OF COURSE you're a wonderful puppy momma silly! you're absolutely in love with frankie & everyone can see that. Momma's get sick & thats just life. I'm sure Frankie's loving being the one that brings smiles to your sickie face ;D
ok i just re-read my comment & it kinda annoyed me how I was talking about my sickness so much. Dumb. Feel better & if your cough is still really persistently miserable tomorrow, call & insist they prescribe you Promethazine/Codeine...you'll feel TONS better. ugh another long comment. i'll leave you alone now LOL
Hi! I've been reading your blog for about a year now, but it's my first time commenting. This entry just broke my heart! It really did. Feel better, and I'm sure you're a wonderful puppy mom! My roommate and I have a puppy too, so I hear you about the puppy stress.

Hi honey. I hope that you feel better soon! I finally slept last night without the aid of NyQuil for the first time in 8 days. Unfortunately I was hacking as soon as I woke up BUT still bright side I stopped coughing for 8 whole hours, it can happen!

Oooooh! Sarah-poo! (That's my baby name for you). Sarah-poooooooo!! I'm so sorry you're not feeling well! I hope you come out of that nasty sickness really soon!!! And just to make you feel better... Kyle and I got pink eye after just a month of owning Rocco... and I called the vet to see if I could transfer pink eye to a dog. We couldn't. But I was still VERY careful because "just in case the vet was wrong" I didn't want to take any chances. :-)

of course you're a good puppy mom - you're a GREAT puppy mom! but i know the feeling, the first child is always the hardest.
Sassy, I'm soooo sorry you're so sick! :( That sickness sounds like the worst ever! Poor girlie! I hope you're feeling WAY better by now! And I hope that Jon doesn't have the flu/fever/cough as bad as you did/do.

I'm so sorry the advise nurse make you cry but I'm so glad your mom cheered you up!

oy hope you're feeling better. i am definitely experiencing sickness too, it stinks.
oh, I hope you are feeling better by now!! Poor thing... that sounds just awful and miserable. :(
