Oldie But Goodie

ahh it feels as though days have been screaming past me. Which can be good when the weekends keep surprising me but bad when I hardly have time to sit down and blog. I have been meaning to post about mine and Jon's visit to one of our favorite antique stores for two weeks! I suppose better late than never.

We were in the market for an old bottle to put the mouthwash in since we got tired of looking at the big plastic bottle.
I LOVE to stroll around in antique stores even if I'm not in the market for anything in particular. It's so fun to take a peak into the past. Even things as simple as bottles of foot powder and pain medicine look interesting when they are old. It's sorta like a museum of the everyday.

And of course it's fun to play dress up.
This matching bag and shoe set was only $20! I really wanted it but the shoes were teenie tiny and I wasn't quite sure where I could display them so I had to leave them behind. I think it's fun to think of where antiques have been in a former life.  Maybe some cute little teenie bopper wear these heels on her prom night...
Jon and I love to get our furniture from antique stores because it's a neat way to recycle, you can get some great deals and I think the furniture has a lot more character than newer pieces of furniture.
Do you have any antiques?

We absolutely love going antique shopping. Vintage finds are so great! We got our bed frame, dining room table w/chairs, and armoire from the habitat for humanity store (which is basically a goodwill of furniture and household appliances & other odds and ends) and of course tons of little things and clothes from Goodwill.

I love antiques! My favorite place to check them out in SF was just off the 101 (on the bay side) right before you got into the city.

Anyways, I have a pair of record tables (like old vinyls, I think) from London that I use as nightstands. I think I got the pair for like $80. LOVE THEM!

I spent far too many afternoons of my youth in antique stores with my mother, consequently, I am not a fan!

Tons! I love antiquing!! Great idea to put the mouthwash in a pretty bottle. I could get soooooooooooo carried away antiquing. I have to hold myself back, so my house doesn't end up looking like my grandma's!
