As I mentioned before, Jon, Frank, and myself are looking for a new place to live and this weekend we decided to get a jump on the search. We found some nice possibilities and I called to get some information that wasn't included in the add.
So I get on the phone with this one complex and I am asking my questions and all seems well and good. And then I confirm that they do indeed take dogs and she says yes.
Me: Ok great!
Her: Wait can I ask you what type of dog you have?
Me: Oh he is an English Bulldog
Her: (Sharp inhale) oh my , we don't take those type of dogs. They are on our list of dogs we are not allowed to take.
Me: A Bulldog? Really? He is like 14 inches off the ground and can't get around very fast...he isn't really a threat.
Her: oh no, we cannot take those dogs.
Me: Ok, well thank you anyway. Bye.
(Long Pause....I wait for her to say goodbye)
Her: Well if you decide to get rid of your dog go ahead and give me a call back.
yeah...sure, we'll get right on that. People sure can say some ridiculous things. I guess some people just aren't dog people.

UGH! What a stupid thing to say!
I get frustrated with people who don't understand too. They truly are a member of our family, for too short of a time. They just don't get why we cherish them so much.
Good luck on apt hunting!
oh wow. dream on, lady.
unbelievable.
good luck with the apt hunt!!
Personally, I plan on selling Rowan so we can get the house we want. So I don't see what the big deal is with getting rid Frankie for an apartment.
Some people are so clueless. Crazy apartment manager lady!!!
Haha, that's so funny. People that say that OBVIOUSLY don't have pets.
Though, when I was flipping through craigslist ads the other day I saw someone was getting rid of their cat because they were moving. I couldn't believe it, I would NEVER get rid of my own ball of fur just for an apartment! No way, no how!!
Good luck with the apartment search!
My new tenant has a bulldog! I met her (the dog) yesterday and she's like one big hunk of muscle! She's also *technically* five pounds over my complex's weight restriction but, as I told my tenant, the weight on my drivers license is a BIG FAT LIE so I don't mind telling a little white lie about Georgia's weight.
Also -- She brought her over last night when she signed the lease and OMG THAT DOG DOESN'T BARK, SHE CLUCKS LIKE A CHICKEN!
So stinking cute.
yeah that's ridiculous. so lame. good luck with the search!
I read this on your Twitter, I was stunned! Obvs people who say stuff like that aren't animal lovers! When we moved into our condo, they told us bulldogs weren't allowed but she was confused, she thought pitbulls were the same thing as bulldogs?!? Umm no!
Who says things like that?!
And how is a bulldog at all threatening, look at Frank, he is a lover! :)
Seriously, who could ever say No to that adorable lil face!?! Lil frankie is the biggest sweetie of all time! I can't believe his breed is on the "bad list" and that that apartment manager lady is so crazy! And like Amber (girl with the red hair) said, it's so sad how many people give up their dogs/cats because they have moved. :( Good luck finding the perfect place for your little family!
LOL!!! She acted like they are pit bulls or something! That's kind of ridiculous!!
People are idiots. It's something I have to come to terms with every day. It's a harsh reality. But dammit it feels good to be one of the smart ones, doesn't it? :)
omg, Colleen's comment made me BURST out laughing LOL!!
people are stupid. I hate the breed ban...we lost a dog very precious to us due to having to give him up when we moved out of our rental home :*(
He has a fantastic home now and i'm friends with his owners on Facebook so I can see pics but it still really makes my heart sad.
AWWWW, poor Frankster--that's discrimination! How could anyone say no to that face??
I don't understand these not dog people of whom you speak!
