Each time I saw each of these girls I caught up on what they were doing now. One of the girls was off to college, another was moving in with her boyfriend and the other was well into her teens. All normal life progressions. Right? Yes, of course, but what made me feel weird is that all three of these girls were "girls" last time I regularly saw them. I even had to throw one of these girls out of my dance class because her 6 year old self thought it would be a good idea to bite the other students.
I don't know if somewhere in my mind I expected these girls to stay little forever. I would grow up but they would stay little? Doesn't make sense I know. But it was such a strange experience to see them all grown up, in what seems like such a short amount of time.
Has this ever happened to you?

at work, I frequently have to look at people's dates of birth. When I see people born in the 90s driving, I'm like "HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?"
Old.
My little baby cousins are in their senior years of high school....it hurt my heart a little bit.
