Places That Stand Out In My Mind

I saw this great idea on Janet's blog, Slice of Pink, and I just knew I wanted to bring it here to my blog.
So here you have it, places I have stood:

*The 50 yard line at Candlestick park
*The exact spot that Elvis stood when he recorded his first single
*Backstage at Disneyland. I wish I had a photo for this but the no photo policy is no joke!
* On a runway (for a charity fashion show) with an Abercrombie and Fitch model.
*At on observation point in the middle of Yosemite National Park and watched all of the oil drain out of my car. You can read about it here in the world's longest blog post.

*In a fountain in Rome while I filled up my water bottle with fresh spring water.
*On top of the Eiffel Tower. So beautiful, yet so frightening, hence the freaked out look on my face.
Your turn, what interesting places have you stood?

Sugar Mama

On Twitter last night Sarah from Home Sweet Sarah posed the question of which celebrities you would choose for your boyfriend, fiance and sugar daddy. Well Jon and I obviously have a great thing going on but it is fun to pretend. So last night Jon and I spent far too much time pondering who our picks would be.

Me: Hmm I think John Stamos for my sugar daddy and Justin Timberlake for my fiance because you and he seem to have a lot in common...but who for my boyfriend?

Jon: How about that young boy you blogged about? You know that musical kid?

Me: ooh Zac Effron?

Jon: yeah him, and that would work out perfectly because you are old enough to be his sugar mama.

Me: Funny Jon, real funny.

*For the record I ended up choosing Adrian Grenier for my boyfriend. Blame the fact that Jon and I watched some episodes of Entourage last night, or blame it on those eyes...or that hair. See what I mean?
So who would you pick for your boyfriend, fiance and sugar daddy?

Blast From The Past

Recently I have been running into people from my past-that sounds really cryptic. Let me try again, I have been seeing people that I haven't seen in a couple years. Interestingly enough they were all from "my dance life"-one girl from my high school dance team (she was 3 years younger than me), and two other girls that I taught while I was in college.

Each time I saw each of these girls I caught up on what they were doing now. One of the girls was off to college, another was moving in with her boyfriend and the other was well into her teens. All normal life progressions. Right? Yes, of course, but what made me feel weird is that all three of these girls were "girls" last time I regularly saw them. I even had to throw one of these girls out of my dance class because her 6 year old self thought it would be a good idea to bite the other students.

I don't know if somewhere in my mind I expected these girls to stay little forever. I would grow up but they would stay little? Doesn't make sense I know. But it was such a strange experience to see them all grown up, in what seems like such a short amount of time.

Has this ever happened to you?

You Think That People Would Have Had Enough Of Silly Blog Posts

So I told you that I would fill you all in on the awesomeness that was the Paul McCartney concert, so here we go!
I told you here that I had hoped that I would get to see Paul McCartney in concert and wammo I had tickets just like that! Well, fast forward a couple of months, now take your time machine backward just a couple days and there you have the Paul McCartney concert. Me, Serina and Carrie drove to San Francisco to meet up with Erin so we could all go to the concert together. We immediately put on our concert going clothes and we were out the door.
Yes, we are wearing scarves-that is summer in San Francisco for ya.
We ate some delicious burgers and then got our booties over to Pac Bell Park.
Paul took the stage at exactly 8:30 to a crowd of people just going absolutely bananas (self included). He sounded great and he was so energetic. Let's not forget people, the man is 68 years old! He did 2 encores and performed for 3 straight hours! He was charismatic and really looked as though he was in his element, like there was nowhere else that he would rather be than in San Francisco rocking the socks off of that crowd. I thought it was sweet that he would thank the crowd after nearly every song. On instinct I would yell back "YOUR WELCOME PAUL!" And every time Serina would look at me and smile with an expression that said, "um you know he can't hear you?"
Ooh funny moment, sitting right next to us was the most unique Paul McCartney fan I have ever come across. He was singing along, like the rest of us-but when he wasn't singing he was yelling the friendliest of obscenities at Mr.McCartney.
Example:
"Yo Paul, you are a *#^&*% Pimp!"
"Paul is the mother ^#^%^* man!"
You get the idea. It was quite amusing really.

Here is a little taste of the evening:

26, I Like You

Before I get going with my Birthday wrap up I would first like to say that I had one of the best birthdays to date-for reasons I will soon get into. But first, I want to thank you all for your sweet words here and on twitter! Really, really made my day!

Ok, so during the weekend I went to an unbelievable concert, a Paul McCartney concert to be specific. But I will recap that tomorrow because it really deserves its own post. On Sunday night my family took me to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory. It was great to have my family all sitting at one table-it feels like we haven't done that in a while.
And of course, there was singing-which I loved .

My brothers bought me 2 dozen gorgeous orange roses (my favorite). It wasn't even my official birthday but I was already starting to feel like a princess.
My family. (My Dad is kneeling so we can all fit in the frame).

The next day my Mom said to show up at her house 11:30 sharp so we could leave for a super secret birthday celebration. But first I had to pick up some flowers for my mom, I get them for her every year.
Well my Mom's big surprise was that we were going to spend the whole day at the spa! I was shocked and so happy! My mom treated me to a massage, manicure, pedicure and facial! It was the most relaxing day I have had in a loooong time. It was such a great gift!

When I got home from my day with my mom I was surprised by these gorgeous flowers from my friends at Brand About Town. I then went to go get the mail and was surprised by a Taylor Swift greeting card from the sweet Sarah Marie P! She heard my squealing on twitter about how I wanted one-what sweetie!
I was giddy times ten! A little bit later Jon got home from work and took me out to dinner! It was seriously one of the best dinners I have ever had! We practically had to be rolled out of the restaurant!
And that is how my 26th birthday went down without a hitch!

Today Is My Birthday, I Get One Every Year

Today I am 26 years old.
Sounds weird to say but it also feels more like my age than any other birthday has. Usually I wake up on my birthday and I never feel like the age I am turning. But this morning I woke up and remembered that today I turn 26 and instead of that weird little wiggle that says, "hmm not sure how I feel about that" I sat up and thought "yeah, 26, that feels about right." Not sure what accounts for this change, but I like it.

In a couple hours I am leaving to go to my Mom's house-she has a surprise day planned for us. I'll be sure to tell you all about it.

But before I sign off I have a couple of birthday requests:
-Have a big laugh at something.
-Indulge in a sweet treat.
-Stop and smell some flowers
-Do something that makes you feel as awesome as you really are.

I know it is a lot to ask for a Monday-but come on, I'm the birthday girl!

Frank the Camel Has One Hump

Lately Frank hasn't quite been himself. We figured that our busy weekends as of late (bulldog meet up, long weekend in Tahoe etc.) had caught up with the little man. But last night he was up and down puking again and again and this morning he was lethargic oh and then he broke out in these.
So we headed to the vet to get to the bottom of this mystery. Apparently the bumps were a case of hives, from what, we aren't sure. Frank was also a little dehydrated from all of the barfing so he had to get an IV of fluids. Since it would be darn near impossible to insert into a dog's vein they put it under the skin which left him looking like this.
ahhh so sad! They also did x-rays to make sure Frank hadn't swallowed any toy pieces etc. What she did find was that Frank seemed to be a little "backed up" if you catch my drift. The vomiting could be a by product of the constipation. The vet said that as long as he doesn't vomit tonight she isn't too concerned. However, if he does vomit tonight we have to bring him back in for more tests.

Please cross your fingers that tonight is vomit free!

UPDATE: Frank made it through the night without vomiting!! I am not allowed to feed him until lunch today so he is a little cranky at me for that but doctor's orders must be listened too! Looks like this guy is on the mend. Thank you all so much for your sweet words of support. You guys are the best!

Up Left Me Feeling Down

Movie watching is a little touch and go for me. First of all it is hard for me sit still long enough, but that is nothing new. What also makes watching a movie difficult is that my threshold for sad, gory and scary movies is much lower than it has been in the past-that is new. Since much of my work revolves around pretty heavy subject matter I don't find movies all that entertaining when they are so serious. So between fidgeting, thinking about what else I could be doing and not being able to relax and watch the subject of 90% of movies out there, movies and I don't really get along.

Usually I stick to documentaries, frivolous chick flicks, and comedies. Well last night Jon and I cuddled up on the couch and decided to watch Up. I had heard that it is a bit emotional at the beginning but I thought that since I had expected it I would be ok. Right? NO!

SPOILER ALERT!

First of all, WHO GIVES AN ANIMATED CHARACTER FERTILITY ISSUES?! Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't these Pixar movies for, ohhhhh I dunno, CHILDREN! My heart broke for those animated characters. And then life just kept happening to this poor little couple. At this point I was sobbing into Jon's shoulder warbling, "This movie is just too sad!"

Jon kept offering to turn off the movie but I kept reasoning that the sad part had to be over. To save you some of my belly aching I will just say this, the sadness was not over. There were dogs picking on sweet little dogs, a little boy being ignored by his Daddy, and a hurt and bleeding, injured mama bird.

I do realize plenty of people saw Up without so much as a single tear, oh how I wish that were me. I don't know what it was about this movie but something about Up made me cry like a little baby, for the rest of the night.

Did you see up? Did you cry?

Adventures in Acupuncture

A couple of months ago I had a very positive experience with acupuncture by way of a Groupon.
Well I have decided recently that acupuncture is definitely something worth investing in and I have had about five more sessions since then. I have been looking forward to my appointments and feel so relieved once they are over. Papa was quite skeptical as to whether or not acupuncture was legitimate. I know there is a lot of questioning as to whether or not it is real, but honestly I don't care if it is a placebo effect-I just care that I am in less pain than I was when I came in.

I recently started adding some acne acupuncture to my visits because well, the acne situation is a hot mess on a silver platter. I haven't notice any results just yet but I am hopeful. Plus I look pretty badass in the meantime right?
One negative about the whole acupuncture? At the end of the session my acupuncturist puts an herbal patch (like a giant sticker) all over my back. Said patch has to stay there for 24 hours. Only glitch, it smells like mold. Like, Thanksgiving dinner from two years ago is sitting in my fridge as we speak, mold. The smell is downright offensive, but it feels like heaven, so I deal with it.
