If I had it my way, Black Friday shopping would consist of going to a tree lot and picking out a tree. But you see, Jon likes to wait a little bit-so this year we compromised and waited until December 6th.

We walked a couple of blocks to the nearest tree lot and all three of us picked out a tree. And just like that we took it home.

We set the tree up with every intention of decorating it. But then we ordered a pizza (half of it without cheese for me), watched tv and then we were just too plum tuckered to decorate it. So there our naked tree sat for a whole week.

We even considered just keeping it au natural because it looked so nice just as it is. Then Jon suggested just putting lights on it-but then I said no we couldn't do that because it would make our apartment look like a Hollister-sans the awful blaring music and nose assaulting cologne.

So we busted out our decorations which consisted of both sentimental ornaments, random store bought ornaments and both white and color lights. Its a mish mash of traditions and tastes but somehow it works.

Dude -- Ok, Sarah Marie & Jo(h)n twins, guess what? We also put up both white and color lights! It's the best way! :)
Your tree looks great! I love that you were able to walk home with it and that Frank helped pick it out.
Oh! Color and white lights - genius! Also, Hollister and the cologne? Makes me never want to enter the mall ever again. That cologne smells like every boy I knew in high school.
We have both colored and white lights on our tree too! The boys like it that way the best, it's our compromise every year and i've actually come to prefer it over either option by itself :D
The Hollister comment made me laugh- I used to work at the mall and every time I walked past there or Ambercrombie I would totally gag on the cologne smell that would hit me like a wall, haha!
