When we last left this saga I had finally located a dermatologist I really clicked with and she had put me on an oral antibiotic and two topical creams. I followed this regimen for a month and it really started to work. My skin started to clear up, I still got an occasional pimple but it was much better. (Lady talk ahead!)
And then I got my period (told you) and a week later I was completely broken out in hard cyst like pimples. UGH. In the past I had been on the pill and that totally kept my skin in check. I never broke out-it was glorious! But then I started to get up to a migraine a week and that had my doctor's concerned, apparently that is a symptom of a stroke that is brought on my birth control pills. So my doctor snapped those out of my acne prevention regimen and my skin was not happy about this choice. (But honestly, if I had to choose between acne and a stroke, acne is the clear winner).
So anywaaaay, my dermatologist switched me to another medication and I am still on the topical treatment and again my skin is clearing up a bit. So we will have to see....

It seems like you've tried everything under the sun for your acne and I can totally relate! Have you thought about trying things that are a little less harsh? I've found that drinking tons of water, taking a Vitamin A and omega-3 pill each night, using a mild soap in the morning and at night (I use Neutrogena grapfruit), and using the cheap topical cream from the drug store works best. I still have issues about 3 days before my period but other than that my face is pretty clear. This method has worked better than anything I've been prescribed by a doc!
