Acne Update: Goin Strong

I can't tell you how freeing it is to say that I am acne free. There were definitely times when I didn't think that I would ever be able to say that. And now that I am past all of the stress of finding a solution to my skin issues I realize just how sad it made me feel. As I pull my hair back these days I realize how I would hide behind my thick hair on a daily basis. When I maintain steady eye contact now I realize how often I would avoid it before. And while it sounds incredibly vain, having bad skin made me so very sad, self conscious, so not like myself.

I am so thankful to have  reached the other side of this skin conundrum so I thought I would share what has seemed to work for me just in case there is someone else out there it may work for.

Morning Routine:
*I Wash face with Trader Joe's Nourish All in One Face cleanser
(I use my clarisonic at this time)

*I swipe Clinique Toning lotion 2 over my face with a cotton pad

*Next I apply Phloretin CF from Skinceuticals, a sulfer face serum from my doctor and Cetaphil (SPF 50)
I know, its a lot of stuff but, man it works!

Nighttime Routine:
*I wash my face again with the Trader Joe's Nourish All in One Facial Cleanser but I don't use my clarisonic this time.

*I once again use the Clinique Toner

*Followed up by TAZORAC lotion and then Trader Joe's Nourish Lotion

*Also I take 50mg of Spironolactone nightly.

*ohh and I wipe a little bit of vaseline around my eyes right before bed.

I know, it seems a bit extreme but after everything I have been through to have good skin I feel like its a small price to pay.
So tell me, what is your skin regimine?

Definitely buying that cleanser next time I'm at TJs! I don't do much of anything but wash my face when showering and rinsing with warm water morning and night. I use Yes to Carrots' lightweight moisturizer and haven't really broken out much since I switched to that.

I should tell my sister about your routine. She has adult acne and dermatologists told her, that probably nothing will help. Maybe your routine - I'm really sorry with her... :/
